The Coffee Roasting Experience

Coffee has been a staple for much of the world for thousands of years, and it will continue to be as the years go by. The lingering aroma of coffee is one of the most wonderful things one can experience. It has been the beginning of many a roaster's journey.

My coffee enjoyment started many years ago as a youth. While growing up in a large family, we always had coffee brewing on the stove in a percolator.

Yes, I said the stove, as it was a well-used peculator that would slowly go from a low and very light boiling into a full boil, pushing the heated water up a metal tube, only to crest into the see-through glass knob at the top and shower over the internal basket that held the ground coffee. This cycle would be repeated until the coffee would reach the correct temperature and color. At the same time, I watched in anticipation of the end result, which was an exquisite cup of coffee! My favorite time was and still is the very early morning hours shared with my cup of coffee in hand and watching the sunrise! Many good conversations were shared around the kitchen table, and coffee was part of those conversations. Well, here I am many years later, roasting coffee, drinking coffee, and sharing the experience of these roasts with my family, friends and each of you.
